The Jewelry Museum of Vicenza opens its new biennial exhibition titled “Gioiello–Italia. Materia Tecnica Arte. Between Ancient and Modern”, curated by art historian Paola Venturelli.
This museum is unique in Italy, created not only to showcase the goldsmithing heritage of the Vicenza district, but to represent the broader Italian excellence in jewelry-making and artisanal tradition.
The exhibition explores the dialogue between past and present, celebrating materials, techniques and artistic expressions that have shaped the identity of Italian jewelry worldwide.
Among the works on display, there is also a significant presence of coral and cameo craftsmanship—creations that immediately recall the city of Torre del Greco, internationally renowned for these centuries-old techniques.
Once again, the inclusion of coral and cameo pieces highlights the cultural and artisanal importance of this tradition, an essential chapter of Italy’s jewelry history.
