Portobello, February 1982
In 1982, we had the great opportunity to be guests on the hugely popular TV show Portobello, hosted by Enzo Tortora. We didn’t let it slip away.
The reason for Assocoral’s appearance on the program was to gather information from the general public about artistic works in coral and cameo owned by Italians, in order to create a database to draw from for exhibitions, shows, and cultural events.
Even though television was still in black and white at the time, the broadcast had an incredible impact.
The next day, Anna Tortora—artistic director and sister of Enzo—called President Rajola and said:
“Do you want to know how many viewers we had last night? 24 million!”
